Jaipur, an upcoming metro city

It must have been a very auspicious and opportune moment when the idea of “Jaipur” must have taken roots in the mind of it founder, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh (1699-1744) who took great interest in designing this city on principles of Vastu Shastra after consulting several architects and architecture styles. The result was for all to see as Jaipur emerged as the first planned city of India.

Historically speaking, Jaipur’s proximity to Delhi, seat of power from the Mughal and British eras to today’s Indian union, the strategies and policies adopted by the erstwhile rulers resulted in relative peace and greater prosperity which in turn promoted varieties of Arts and Crafts and preservation of some of the finest traditions and majestic grandeur which continue to be its hall mark even today.

Jaipur’s unique colourful display of so many religious and culture traditions and legendary heartwarming Rajasthani Hospitality, in terms of food, friendship and fidelity are simply unforgettable and without a parallel, charming every visitor who sets foot here in some way or the other.

Today’s Jaipur has grown well beyond its original planned “Pink City” founded in 1727, not only easily becoming the capital city of Rajasthan state but also emerging as  a great hub for Trade and Commerce ,Education, Gems and Jewellery, Arts And Crafts, among various others, while continuing being one of the most preferred tourist destinations in India. Strategic geographical location nearer to Delhi on the Delhi –Mumbai industrial corridor is bound to only add to its importance and growth in the coming years.

Perched high from the ramparts of Amer Fort to the tall observation towers atop the Jaigarh and Nahargarh Fort, Jaipur has always had its far sighted eyes in the future. Today, in the same breath, one can say Jaipur is GROWTH, Jaipur is the FUTURE !
